Wow! I cannot believe it's been almost a year since I've posted here! School and work has been super busy.I know I've posted about the More Meaningful Gifts BnR before. Right now we are having our 2nd anniversary! This thread has been so supportive of me and many many other shops. Now is my turn to feature one of our newest shops on the list.
Thecuriouscupcake has some beautiful chainmaille, wire-wrapped, and beaded jewelry and accessories. I've purchased a blue ring very similar to this one and I love it!
And I have always loved these pea pod necklaces.
What is your favorite item from this shop?

Blog Contest - Name My New Fish!!!
Alright, so I know I have been WAY lax about keeping up with my blog. Since January I have completed my second year of graduate school, taken my written and oral Ph.D. candidacy exams, and advanced to candidacy. Needless to say, up until now, school and work has taken over my life.
But now I'm come back to you with a contest and a chance to win a pair of my fingerless gloves/gauntlets.
Last week was my birthday :) For one of my gifts, my supervisor at the Animal Rehabilitation Keep (ARK) gave me a new pet! A beautiful ruby red Betta! Isn't he gorgeous? Now, I'm really horrible at thinking up names so I decided to open it up to the public.
To enter this contest:
1) Post a comment with your name idea
2) Comment must include a way for me to contact you if you win (i.e. Etsy store ID, email, etc.)
Contest will end next Friday, October 9. Hubby and I will then sit down and go through the names and choose :)
The person who suggests the winning name gets to choose a pair of fingerless gloves (not mittens) from my shop. I will stitch a custom pair if the winner would like a different color than those pre-made.

Kindred Knits - Knits & Paper Goods
The second goody from jessicajane's giveaway that I would like to feature was donated by kindredknits. Her shop features colorful hand knitted items as well as some great printed note cards.
The item I received was one of these awesome acorn note cards. The color and the detail are great! I'm more tempted to frame it and put it on my desk than to actually use it as a note card ;) You can also buy a similar acorn design as a larger print.
Kindredknits, as the name implies, also has some great knitted items in her shop. Everything from hats, to mittens, to scarves and shawls. This particular scarf caught my eye. I love the bright pink and orange and the mohair looks so soft. The loose lacy stitch also makes this such an elegant accessory.
Be sure to check back tomorrow for another of the giveaway goodies that I won :D

I'm Back! Feature Shop - Vol25
Wow! I cannot believe I haven't posted here since October. This last semester at the marine lab really got to me. I was so busy on top of figuring out my research proposal. Hopefully this semester I have my work load a little more under control.
To celebrate my return I have a whole line-up of shops to feature. A few months ago, I was told by one of my fellow MMGers, Ulixis of Ulixis Crafts, about a great give-away hosted by jessicajane (who makes some awesome jewelry and sculptures). Well, lucky me won one of the gift sets offered up!!! I was ecstatic; I never win anything. So I have 13 new shops to write about. It was a truly awesome gift set all centered around the theme of "Home Sweet Home."
The first featured shop is Vol25. Her shop is full of colorful and fun prints, ACEOs, cards, and buttons. I was lucky enough to win this "One of These Houses" print. I still have yet to frame it but I can't wait for it to grace one of the walls in the front room of our apartment. I love the natural color of the piece, which makes it so easy to incorporate into any decor scheme.
My other favorite print is "She Sells Sea Shells." I am an ocean nut - everyone knows it. Check out my Etsy favorites and a large majority of my hearted items are ocean themed. This print incorporates the classic tongue twister that everyone loves with shells and a beautiful blue. A color that reminds me of the sky over the ocean on a sunny day.
Be sure to check in again tomorrow. I promise to try and keep more up-to-date. I have a lot more goodies to show off in the next week.

Molecular Muse - Mad Scientist of Etsy
Hello everyone! I just finished giving a presentation in my Marine Ecosystem Dynamics course and am rewarding myself with a break to bring you today's featured shop.
Molecular Muse is a fellow Mad Scientist of Etsy. I was already drawn to her shop before I joined the MSOE team. She is a wonderfully talented jewelry-maker, silver forger, and artist to be able to turn molecular structures into works of art.The first item I've chosen to feature comes from my obsession with coffee drinks. I swear my blood is probably infused with caffiene by now. Gotta love being a full time student for the past 20 years. These caffiene earrings are great! They go with just about any outfit and you can get the matching necklace as wellThis second item I've chosen because music has also played a big role in my life. I was the typical band geek from 5th grade up until I graduated from high school. I was also in choir as well as choral competitions since elementary school through my Bachelor's degree. What better way to fuse my love of music and science than a necklace that represents music spelled out with amino acids. Totally awesome!
Be sure to check out the rest of Molecular Muse's store for chocolate, serotonin, and dopamine jewelry!

Bellacosaart - Original Unique Art
Good morning everyone! I felt it was time to feature a painter for today's posting.
I met Bellacosaart when I joined the BNKO/Holiday Shopping Extravaganza thread on Etsy. She is a very talented painter and also features items that are ecosystem friendly. That's definately a plus in my book :)Today's first item is a painting of peppers. A piece of canvas was stretched over a recycled cedar plank. I love the rustic look and am definately looking to decorate my kitchen when hubby and I move into a place of our own. She also has tomatoes and garlic painted in the same way.The second item for today is also very eco friendly. This beautiful landscape was painted on a brown paper bag! This just goes to show that great artwork can be painted or drawn on anything. She has many more paper bags to choose from so you definately must check them out!
